The following quote is going on my vision board for the year!
I'm going to memorize it and use it as my new mantra for those times when I am not living in my highest good!
"Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
Talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
Make all your friends feel there is something in them.
Look at the sunny side of everything.
Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.
Be as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
Give everyone a smile.
Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others.
Be too big for worry and too noble for anger."
~Christian D. Larson
So simple....and certainly life changing; spend so much time embracing goodness that there is no time for any negativity in your life!

Very good! When your cup is full to the brim with goodness, there is no room for anything else!
Just stumbled upon your blog and so glad I did! Great reminders for all of us...thank you.
P.S. Love the little orange stars that fall from my pointer :)
Hey there Jen! Happy New Year. I really enjoyed reading your mantra for this year. I make a vision board every time I move to a new city. They are wonderful aren't they? Congrats on the 100 blogs to inspire people to be better! I appreciate all the hard work you've done to make your blog not only beautiful and poignant.
Is there a list of the 100 blogs that inspire anywhere? I've just googled it but found nothing :( I'd love to read some of them.
your post is short but strong and inspiring. Its lovely. Pleas try my blog maybe we are in the same line.
I like this post. It's like reminding yourself to be positive as the new year starts.
Beautiful Jen,
So very beautiful...
Blessing you with a world of soft love and light this year my friend,
May your road be paved in hope,
With love, Maithri
Hi Jen,
Wonderful post, full of positivity.
As always! :-)
You write ""Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. "
And "Be too big for worry and too noble for anger."
Reminds me of Eckhart Tolle's wisdom.
In 'The New Earth', he says that if and when somebody tries to provoke you, pause for a minute, prevent yourself from reacting in anger, and *WATCH* the anger rise in your mind/body.
The immediate effects are that this anger that rises in a person as a consequence of not reacting to the provoker--this anger will try to confuse the person in many ways...as it simmers in the person's mind/body....and ego damage will occur.
This ego damage is a healthy thing for a person who has crossed a certain point in consciousness evolution.
Because this entire instability will transmute into amazing peace, in no time. In most cases.
It comes down to making space for everything. The space leads to transmutation and healing.
And an argument has been avoided.
In tantric practice, absolutely nothing is rejected, and all are welcome. The sacred is the consort of the profane.( which is anger, in this case.)
Its always wonderful to read what you write.
regards,
Vikram
Hi Jen,
Some clarifications:
I made a very strong statement---*The sacred is the consort of the profane.*-----and I feel I should elaborate on it, so that you don't misunderstand my perspective.
I have been pondering the above tantric principle for a long time.
To what extent should it be accepted and practiced? I don't know. Difficult to say. Is my current path & perspective correct? Don't know.
But I do know that in this world of startling contradictions, acceptance of everything "as it is" will lead to integration, healing, peace, expanded consciousness...which will open newer doors...newer, fresher perspectives...
Like the tantrics say..."the luminous splendour of the colourless light of emptiness will reveal itself only to the surrendered tantric."
Difficult job in this difficult world.
Life goes on.
:-)
regards,
Vikram
