One Hundred Trillion Moments of Goodness

There are about one hundred trillion cells in the human body. Put another way, you are comprised of approximately 100,000,000,000,000 cells.

This is pretty amazing.

But what astounds me even more than this huge number is that all these cells came from two; two cells from which all one hundred trillion cells in our body have emerged.

Now, as amazing as this is another little fact that I can hardly get my brain around is that, those two little cells that come together, divide into four. Those four cells divide into eight and so on it goes. And, in only fifty divisions, the whole of the human is created.

Only fifty divisions and two cells become 100 trillion.

I can't quite get over this.

It seems impossible and yet, it is the reality of the development of the human.

It got me thinking.

What if for every good event that came into our lives, we doubled it. For each smile, we gave two. For every kind word, we spoke two. For every good deed, we gave two.

We double each wonderful moment, every second of kindness, all those brief encounters that brought us peace.

In only fifty encounters, there would be 100 trillion wonderful moments of goodness.

Hmmm.... I'm going to try it.
