We live in an amazing world... more amazing than we can possibly imagine.
And, we are constantly discovering new dynamics, new interactions, and new phenomenon.
One new discovery that completely revises previous understanding of life is the idea of unmediated interactions.
Until very recently, it was thought that all interactions were the result of a mediator. In other words something would not move unless there was a cause or interaction.
Scientists glimpsed the theoretical possibility that there could be an unmediated interaction but obviously it seemed quite impossible. Einstein called this theoretical phenomenon, the, Spooky Action at a Distance Theory, and did not embrace it as reality. At the time, there was no way to scientifically test the theory so it remained just speculation until recently.
Just a few decades ago, as physicists found ways to test the theory, they did.*
Guess what they discovered?
There is indeed an interaction between two objects separated in space with no mediator.
In other words, two objects, separated in space instantaneously relate to each other with no known or measurable encounter or mediator.
In many ways this is a revolutionary, perhaps a revelatory idea.
It seems likely that everything, EVERYTHING is somehow connected to everything else in the universe.
To put this another way, we are entangled in ways we have yet to discover.
Bringing this to our immediate lives, our behaviors, perhaps even our thoughts may affect everything else that exists.
Contemplating the ramifications of this idea is beyond the ability of my brain, but it does make me careful, conscious, and aware of my life.
While the idea that we are separate, individual, and perhaps isolated, is common, it seems inconsistent with what we are discovering. The worldview that harmful behavior affects only the immediate people involved is becoming obsolete with more understanding of our universe.
Might goodness, in the moment actually transform our world in ways we cannot measure? Might what you are doing this very moment influence something across the planet? And, how might our negativity change the lives of others in our world?
There are many questions resulting from our new understanding.
And so, we take this new reality into our lives and reevaluate how our existence impacts the greater whole. We become mindful that each thought, each behavior, each action may in fact move, alter, influence others in ways of which we are completely unaware.
Ahhh.... there is more to our story than we know.
*To test the theory, physicists separated coupled electrons and measured the spin. While interacting, if one electron spins up the other spins down. What was discovered is that even when separated, the electrons instantaneously altered their spin as if they were interacting, without any form of mediation.

Very interesting post! I have heard this, and I believe it will take me a few times to read and re-read for it to sink in.
I test it daily in my own life though, and haven't been proved wrong yet.
It makes all of the difference in the world on how I react to any circumstance - the outcome really feels as if it's part of the energy I put forth.
I love your insight and your thoughts to bring us more knowledge.
Hugs Jen, you are the bestest!
Love and Light,
Monica
Hi Jen,
This is a fascinating that I very much enjoy learning about. I too read something somewhere about this.It is hard for our minds to grasp the magnitude of this revelation.
I hae noticed that of all strange things, the internet seems to have become a great medium where we all are beginning to learn how connected we really are. How many people are we affecting with our words, thoughts and emotions through our blogs? And vice versa. My head is spinning. It is wonderful. We are making an evolutionary leap.
Oh.. I forgot ... a while back I had mentioned that I was reading a good book on 2012 and you inquired about it. I want to get a few other books to compare material. This covers many aspects such as the science behind it,the spiritual and even some skepticism thrown in. I think you would enjoy it.
The Mystery of 2012/Predictions, Prophecies and Possibilities
Authors: Greg Braden,Peter Russell, Daniel Pinchbeck, Joanna Macy Ph.D.
etc.
hi mom! checkin out the ol' blog. :)
Hi Jennifer,
I have sat here and read and read.
Your insight into the world is so very keen and alive.
I am always lifted and find guidance, peace, and yes comfort when I come here.
Thank you and God Bless,
Jackie
I didn't know these were theories, hehehe. I have been thinking about the spooky theory on my own for almost a year now, but never consciously knew it was a scientific thing. hehehe.
Lovely post. We are not alone.
Hi Titania,
Ahhh I'm not surprised that you have indeed noticed the spooky action at a distance stuff!
I think the more one is attuned with life, the more the dynamic is apparent!
Blessings to you sweetie,
jen
Hi Monica,
Well, this theory is not something that is simple ... I mean even Einstein didn't buy into it. It just seems inconsistent with life in many ways.
But... I do think the more we embrace the reality of this dynamic of our world, the more we will live consciously.
Lots of love to you Monica,
Jen
Ohhh also Titania,
Thank you for the book recommendation! I'm a huge fan of Greg Bradden and am fascinated by the Mayan so I have a sense this book will be a favorite!
XO,
Jen
AHHHHHHHHHHHhh Jason my darling son!
What a totally wonderful surprise!
I'm so happy to see you here!
I love you so much! :-)
Mom
Hi Jackie...
Ahhh thanks sweetie!
I'm humbly honored when anyone finds a moment or two of goodness.
Each little speck of kindness, insight, wisdom, and light makes a difference. I'm convinced!
You bring so much to our world Jackie..
Love and hugs,
Jen
Ahhh Sue,
LOL! Yep it is a theory for sure!
Actually, more like a reality. While we don't understand all of its implications, it is pretty clear there is indeed unmediated interaction going on!
Fun to discover what you feel is real! :-)
Love to you sweetie,
Jen
Jen,
Fascinating ideas. Sort of ties in to the domino effect, but that implies causation. Is this research suggesting that because I smile here, someone on the other side of the planet could spontaneously feel that positive energy, and be happy because of it? Not quite sure I follow.
Hi Dave...
Actually this is pretty much mainstream physics these days.
It is virtually universally accepted that indeed there is a dynamic of unmediated interactions.
Now, how this plays out is more speculation.
What seems to be the case is that indeed everything is one thing.
IOW, not cause and effect but simultaneously moving as one.
I've heard a scientist use the analogy of a painting... if you add a flower to a work of art, the whole work of art is altered.
IOW, every single thing we do, affects the whole of life (actually I heard a physicist assert that it affects the whole of the universe), in ways beyond what we have considered.
Does that help? It is a lot to contemplate for SURE!
I was trying not to go into too much science but maybe it would clarify?
Jen
Hi Jennifer,
I am not sure whether I told you this. I was told by my friend who had attended a motivational seminar. In that seminar, it was shown a rotating pendulum rotate in a reverse direction when everyone in the seminar begins to focus on positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts.
Well, indeed, there are a lot of amazing things out there! :-)
Blessings.
Let's Acquire Wisdom and Live with Passion
Jennifer,a very informative post.I have gained a few new theories.
Thanks for sharing.
God bless.
Jen,
I truly believe that we are all intertwined and that our thoughts effect everything around us and have implications that we do not yet appreciate.
Great post, thank-you for this information!
I love this!
Remembering our connection,
I bow to your beauty.
With love, Maithri
Hi Sam,
No, you had not mentioned the pendulum before. I have seen such experiments, and actually have a two pendulums that I have played with. I can't say my experience matches what I hear is possible but I am open to all sorts of possibilities... :-)
I hope you are well my friend,
Jen
Hi Surjit...
:-)
Glad you found this post interesting!
I love how science is helping us glimpse more of what we are a part!
Our universe is amazing!
Jen
Hi Mark...
Ohhh I so agree with you.
I think many of us have this sense and science is now giving us a whole new way of looking at these intuitive notions.
It is fun to ponder the possibilities! :-)
Warmest wishes to you Mark,
Jen
Ohh Maithri,
Thank you so much!
I'm glad you enjoyed this little post!
I wish I could put into words the awe and wonder I feel.
I just can't capture what is inside but it is nice to know others too share this feeling of awe!
Love to you Maithri,
jen
It IS an amazing world :) The more we think we 'know', the more there is out there to learn. And if this is true - that everything interacts with everything else - it seems to me that we really ought to be even more mindful of what we say, what we think, and what we do.
Hi Grace...
Ahhh yes, the more we discover the more questions and wonder. :-)
Like you, when I contemplate my actions and thoughts, and consider they are impacting the universe in ways I may not fully grasp, it causes me pause!
Warmest wishes,
jen
Hi Jen,
I have read that the plants will grow healthy and beautifully if the owner shower them with love and tender, thus we are definitely affecting each other in some ways.
jen,
thank you for an amazing post--the more one lifts the veils of obliviousness, the more that one flows with the energy of the universe , the more one has the knowingness that all these connections do exist, as they manifest in one's life.
we live in truly amazing times, because we are on the brink of a new world.
some might see it , others will be the guides .most importantly the change will be brought about by necessity.
thank you
derick
Hi Reflections... :-)
Yes, there is some amazing research along these lines. Our thoughts can indeed affect the energy surrounding us.
So, so amazing!
:-)
Jen
Hi Derick,
Ohh thank you for your wisdom and for being a guide in this world.
Blessings and peace to you,
Jen
INTERESTING post! I love the message that we continue influencing the lives around us even though we may not immediately realize it. ;-D Hopefully we share more or only positive influence rather than negative one. ;-D
Oh strange, I just emailed Titania and asked how much she knew about 2012... just noticed she asked here about it and I didn't even know... LOL
Thanks for the information here Jennifer... it is a tough one to grasp, but interesting enough to research - which I love doing!
Thanks again Jennifer!
Love to you as well,
Monica
Hi Monica...
Cool! :-)
The Mayans were amazing... I have a fascination with their culture!
The whole 2012 idea is quite vast and fun to explore!
Maybe I should post about this... since we only have five years! ;-)
XO,
jen
If you would like to know more about this and not have some brief generalisation to make your morning warmer, ha i'm so cynical really i loved this article.. anyhow to give one of the scientists some respect: John Stewart Bell was one of them and a neat little wikipedia site was devoted to the experiment and indeed the whole theory that derives from his name, Bell's Theorem.
ofcourse this experiment was not without controversy and many interpretations, this lovely and warm little 'we are all meaningfully connected' one being included (which is my favourite :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell's_Theorem
cheers to the death of locality :)
i love this theory with a healthy addition of Carl Jung's collective unconscious, also quite interesting.
J.G
Hey JG...
Thanks for the link and the insights!
I am so NOT a scientist but completely LOVE reading what they have to say!
And... being a therapist, I am a HUGE fan of Jungs!
I just have the sense there is way more to our existence than we imagine, and little by little we are discovering what is going on!
Thanks you again,
Warmest wishes,
Jennifer
