Thanks Jennifer, for bringing this quote to our attention. It is so powerful...so much wisdom in so few words. I hope you don't mind, but I've reused it in my blog. (You are credited, of course.) And yes, the snow, what little there was, is gone, although it has been bitterly cold here this week. Nevertheless, I'm optimistic because spring is just around the corner!
This words resonate with power and hope. They say love and be loved.
Thank You.
Hi Eric... ohhh please do use anything that you find beneficial! :-)
Glad you are dethawing up there! :-) Yes spring is just around the corner. I've got cherry trees blossoming! YAY!
Wishing you a great weekend...
Jen

Thanks so much for this...
Jen
This is a beautiful quote and one of the great lessons of life! So simple really isn't it? Most of the great lessons are.
Hi Mark... you are so right. The really great lessons of life and sometimes the most simple. Why do we make life so complicated sometimes? :-)

I LOVE DALAI LAMA! Everything he says is so powerful. He's never preachy, yet speaks in the simplest terms to where everyone can understand and feel the power of his words. Thanks for posting this quote.
Hi Isabella.... Ahhh... we are on the same page! :-) I love your blog! You share great information and come across so kind and open and caring!

Hi Lucky... ohhh you captured the Dahli Lama's essence so perfectly. He comes across so simply and peacfully. I never sense judgment, harshness, or superiority... just kindness and caring. :-) He inspires me for sure!

Those who practise Buddhism have been taught to live with awareness and compassion...to ourselves and others. Buddhist ethics are based not on rules but on compassion and wisdom.
There are five basic precepts in Buddhism that guide us to follow a compassionate path...in terms of restrain, we should not cause any suffering or more suffering.
In simple terms, the five precepts are: do not kill, do not steal, do not have damaging sexual interaction, do not lie, do not take intoxicants.
